About this ranking

Some games look worse on the Steam store than they are, because of players who quit early or a wave of review bombing. This list keeps only games that stay below 50% positive even when we count just the players who went past each game’s played line. They are not games that click once you push through; the complaints point to the design or technical quality itself.

Use it as a check before you buy. Some of these may be the kind of game people call notoriously bad, so if you want to try one for the story, it helps to know why. The reasons differ: unstable performance, thin content, or a game that is no longer supported. The Note column shows the complaint mentioned most in negative reviews. Open a game to see whether that complaint has been there since launch or has been fading recently.
